Rajas Rickshaw
It is spring in Bangladesh some time in the distant past when all around was a wonderful time and the people were happy and joyful as the Raja had just taken a wife.
The scene was set for joyous dancing and singing and all around the palace; life took on a new beginning. Guests were arriving on elephants for the celebrations, the Palace musicians were playing, the dancers were dancing, the servants were going about their busy duties, the boats were mooring in the Palace estuary loaded with gifts for the happy couple, the Rickshaws were busy transporting people to and fro and the wild animals that lived around the Palace relaxed in the warm spring sunshine. The Raja and Rani were bathed in the love of their people and settled down to a beautiful life in the Palace.
Mr Miah commissioned me to paint a story book of a Raja and his Palace to compliment his Raja Restaurant in Knebworth, Hertfordshire. There are 8 paintings in total.
